There are none in the terminals...........You have to step outside.

They do have smoking areas set aside in the airport. I hope you and you reeking breath and smoke-polluted clothes don't sit near me. Ciggy-stink is a tough thing to be stuck with from a fellow passenger.

You will not like this but I smoked for forty years and couldn't stop. Welcome to my world in 2001 had two heart attacks quad by-pass surgery now have congestive heart failure and lost a good part of my breathing. Between smoking and other garbage I was 90% closed up. I thought that it would never happen to me. Tour going to love the feel of a ventilator shoved down your throat so you can breath. Happens every time.

There are no longer smoking areas in the airport. If you want to smoke you have to go outside, and then go back through security to get to the gates to catch your next flight. Yes, it's inconvenient, but that's the point.

They have a new smoking ordinance in DFW airport. you will have to go outside the terminal, get your breathing treatment then go through security again. depends how bad you want the smoke and how much time you have between flights.

The one I was looking at (although I'm not a teenager) in Arlington was http://www.skymates.com/courses.php which says you can start at any age, but just can't solo until you're 16 and get a certificate until you're 17. http://www.pro-aircraft.com/courses.asp , which has their basic courses at Hicks Field (Saginaw area, north of Fort Worth) and advanced at Meacham, lists the same age requirements, so I assume that's state law. I don't think it's FAA regulations because it seems like I've heard of younger people getting licenses, but I could be wrong. Or, just Google Fort Worth flight schools: http://www.google.com/search?q=fort+worth+flight+school&sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B3GGGL_enUS255US264

Yes, specifically over the Gulf of Mexico. I don't recall just how long we were actually over water, partly because we were pretty much along the shore for well over an hour, whether over water near land or over land near water.
2 :
Yeah, you probably will fly over the Gulf of Mexico. I am guessing that you will spend probably 1 to 2 hrs over the plane because it normally takes 2 hr and 45 mins for the flight and there is still a piece of Texas and Louisana that you will fly over.
3 :
I took this flight once before. Yes it does go over the ocean. And it is not a big deal. I did this my first time ever flying. It's a relatively short flight.
4 :
Yes. You'll be over water (Gulf of Mexico) for at least an hour if not 90 minutes depending on the fligh plan. Done the flight many many times.
5 :
About 60 minutes overwater - If at night - you probably will not even see it - Will be from New Orleans to Ft.Myers for the overwater portion - Do not worry - pilots and flight attendants can swim - You do not need flotation equipment - Airlines generally provide some - Never actually been on the flight - always absent minded - Never did DFW to MIA - but I did LAX to MIA about 10 or 20 times -
