Another good thing to do is to contact your oxygen supply company and have them help with your arrangements. Airlines will not let you take a portable on board, but many of the larger oxygen suppliers have branches in big cities. They can be sure that you have O2 at the airport until you board your flight and that there is someone to meet you at your destination and set you up with equipment where you'll be staying. The airlines will let you use their O2 during flight, but I guarantee they will charge you dearly.

Some airlines will let you use a portable concentrator, there are 2 acceptable brands Problem is these cost $595 a week to rent I think American charges $700 to use theirs, per leg. One flight I wanted to do was 4 changes or $2800 Southwest allows a couple brands of concentrators at no extra charge

How early can I go to the airport and go through security

How early can I go to the airport and go through security?
I'm going to Wichita Falls, Texas to visit my fiance at his technical school (USAF) and I'm flying into Dallas/Fort Worth International airport. My flight for home leaves at 6 am and Wichita Falls is a 2 hour and 15 minute drive to Dallas. Rather than get up at 2am to drive to the airport with enough time to return the car rental and make it through security, I wanted to know if I could go through security the night before and just hang out overnight in the terminal. It would save me some hassle with the car rental and some money.

and they don't like people in the terminals at night, if there are no flights and you aren't 'stranded' by a flight. They make you leave now...
2 :
pretty sure they clear out secure area overnight. There are a hundred "value" hotels around the airport...
3 :
YOu can go to the airport any time you want to but you wouldn't get to go through security until about an hour before your flight.

Ugh, I drive to New Orleans which is 2.5 hours away and sometimes my flight is that early. I know you said money is an issue but look into cheap hotels nearby with an airport shuttle so you can drive in, drop your car off, stay the night, and hotel shuttle to the airport the next morning. Motel 6 is always cheap, stay a night there and drop the rental off in the morning. Or use couch surfing and see if anyone has a room nearby, for cheap or free. Then find those totals and see if it's worth spending that extra money or just getting up early. Sometimes I try to motivate myself with a breakfast treat at the airport when I get there. Or make a good mix CD to listen to on the drive. Prepare a smoothie or good coffee to be ready in the morning, or stop at a convenience store for something to get you going. I've always found it was just cheaper to get up early and go than to try much the night before, but you might have better luck.

the closest you can get it turning everything in then staying at a "airport hotel" those are usually 150 a night with a free shuttle to the air port.

Amtrak is good. Here is your best option... http://tickets.amtrak.com/itd/amtrak Good luck , Have fun...
2 :
If you are not going to fly you could take the bus. It is cheaper and probably as fast as amtrak. the trains in the U.S. are not like the trains in Europe
3 :
Driving takes three to four hours, so by train it will be about the same. Unless you get lucky and the freight trains don't hold you up.
4 :
i make that trip at least once a month. just take I-20 straight to louisiana, it passes right through the middle of shreveport. very simple.
5 :
I-20 east and there you are. I would drive. It's like the other person said only 3 hours or so.
6 :
i actually JUST got back home to dallas from shrevepot about an hour ago. The best way is to drive. Its a boring drive... but its only 3 hours. From Dallas.. take 635 south to 80. Then that to I20 east and that will take you all the way to Shreveport. The speed limit is 70 daytime and 65 night time pretty much the whole way.

Minor's flight information

Minor's flight information!?
Okay... so im going to make this simple.. i need help please it is important. I am a 15 year old boy. Live in Chicago and going to Fort Worth, Texas. (most likely departing from O'Hare airport. Although Midway would be preferable for I live 5 minutes away from it) Well here are some questions i would like answered. help will be appreciated.. i am DESPERATE. 1.- So ive checked online for tickets. It asks "time for departure and return" then gives me a cost after ive chosen the flights. of $364. now is this for both the flights.. or for each (meaning to go $364 and to come $364 totaling to around $730 +bagging costs and all)?? 2.- Okay.. I am aware of the unacopanied minor services, or the normal services (meaning no chaperone and no extra costs) I will NOT choose the service, which makes me like an adult traveling i believe. and am submitted to searching and being pulled out for further information or such. now.. even if i do not choose it. Do i still need my parents or guardian to drop me off? 3.- Ofcourse.. no I.D. other than school I.D. will be available. will that work out? 4.- around what is the cost for like bags being put in the airplane? 5.- any extra info you would think reliable please

1. It will depend on how the website is configured. There are sites which would give you the total cost immediately for the roundtrip tkt but there are times when it gives you the breakdown per direction instead. Have you got to the part where it says total cost. That page will tell you the total cost for the roundtrip fare. 2 normally somebody would have to accompany you during check in. Could somebody assist you during check in? It would be better if you have somebody with you and look like a kid than miss your flight. 3. call the airline company you are travelling with and check with them what form of identification will be acceptable for the specific airport you are departing from. TSA.GOV is very helpful. http://www.tsa.gov https://contact.tsa.dhs.gov/DynaForm.aspx?FormID=60 4. Baggage....it will depend on the airline you are travelling with. Check on their site for baggage information. It is better than calling them. 5. SINCE you are a minor and travelling alone it is advisable for you to choose a non stop flight. Trust me, it will keep you out of trouble.

Look up southwest.com. They only have a policy for children traveling alone for 12 and under. So you will be okay. If you are planning on doing a round trip the fees can be different depending on the day of the week you travel. You can purchase a outgoing flight for 145 and a returning flight for more or less depending on the time and day. Also check out airtran they are the airlines that are offering great deals right now. You can go to the end and get a total of the trip including taxes without putting any information in. As for being 15 you will need your school ID to enter security, up to 15 no ID is needed. Most airlines are charging 15 for first check in bag each way. All the food aboard the plane will cost, so buy a snack at the airport for your flight. Some airlines also charge if you want to book a certain seat. These fees run anywhere from 5 -20 depending on the seat. Remember if you choose a seat you will be charged if you change it. If you give the dates you are looking for travel and the airport codes I will see what I can come up with.
